As the 10-day total curfew in Manipur imposed to contain the surge in Covid-19 positive cases entered the second day Monday, the state witnessed a marginal dip in the daily new cases. The state reported 773 new positive cases against Sunday's 963, while the daily death toll rose to 16, official sources said.
The cumulative number of positive cases in the state reached 85,596, including 9,693 active cases and 74,511 recoveries as of Monday, a release from the Covid-19 Common Control Room stated. As many as 741 patients recovered in the last 24 hours, it added.
According to the State Level Covid-19 Deaths Audit Committee, Imphal West reported five deaths, Imphal East, Thoubal, Bishnupur, Kakching and Chandel reported one death each, Kangpokpi two deaths and Churachandpur four deaths. The cumulative number of COVID-19 deaths in the state is 1,392, it stated.
The new positive cases included one security personnel. Of the new positive cases in the general population, 230 are from Imphal East, 217 from Imphal West, 83 from Thoubal, 84 from Bishnupur, 38 from Kakching, three from Ukhrul, 46 from Churachandpur, 15 from Chandel, seven from Senapati, 17 from Tamenglong, five each from Tengnoupal and Pherzawl, 20 from Kangpokpi and three from Kamjong.
Meanwhile, a total of 2,004 D-type Oxygen Cylinders and 3515 B-type Oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health institutions and health facilities of Manipur in the last 24 hours.
As per the latest update, the total number of people who have been inoculated with Covid vaccine reached 10,43,504.
"The number of patients as on today admitted/adjusted against available bed strengths in different treatment facilities in the state are RIMS (230/224), JNIMS (245/286), I Land Hospital (38/60), District Covid Facilities (169/347), MSF (24/30), Private Covid Hospitals (244/310) and CCCs (1600/2946). The grand total of admitted patients is 2,554 and number of beds available is 1,764," the release stated.
