Thang-Ta players seek job opportunities in Manipur Police

To give impetus in providing job opportunities to the meritorious sportspersons of the state, the Huyel Langlon Thang-Ta Association has urged the CM to help the unemployed talented players.

The Huyel Langlon Thang-Ta Association, Manipur has urged Chief Minister N Biren Singh to provide opportunity and priority to Thang-Ta sports certificate holders during the job recruitment, including constables in Manipur Police Department.

Acknowledging the advertisement for recruitment constables in Manipur Police, the association said that there are many talented players who have brought laurels for the state, in national as well international platforms but mostly are unemployed. To give impetus in providing job opportunities to the meritorious sportspersons of the state, the association has urged the CM to help the unemployed talented players, said a release by Huyel Langlon Thang-Ta Association secretary, Heikrujam Cha Babu.

It may be mentioned that to promote the Indigenous Martial Art Thang-Ta, the 1st Chief Minister Indigenous Martial Art Thang-Ta/Cheibi Meet 2019 was successfully conducted under the state government. It is imperative that the state government should take measures to preserve and develop this martial art at any cost, it added.
