COVID Care: World Vision India extends help to combat COVID-19 pandemic in Manipur

World Vision India, Imphal West Area Programme in collaboration with All Manipur Health Services Doctors’ Association (AMHSDA) on Saturday donated 180 PPE kits, 450 N95 masks, 450 sanitizers, nine boxes of Nitrile gloves, 10 Lizol bottles (one litre each), 10 pulse oximeter and five infrared thermometer to the District Hospital Chandel.

With an aim to support and strengthen the healthcare systems of Manipur amid the COVID-19 pandemic, the World Vision India, Imphal West Area Programme in collaboration with All Manipur Health Services Doctors’ Association (AMHSDA) donated medical equipment, including oxygen concentrators and PPE kits to various health facilities of the state.

World Vision India, Imphal West area programme manager Asosii Loli said in a statement that World Vision India, Imphal West Area Programme in collaboration with All Manipur Health Services Doctors’ Association (AMHSDA) on Saturday donated 180 PPE kits, 450 N95 masks, 450 sanitizers, nine boxes of Nitrile gloves, 10 Lizol bottles (one litre each), 10 pulse oximeter and five infrared thermometer to the District Hospital Chandel.

Moreover, dry ration, cash and voucher programme were also provided to more than 1,500 most vulnerable families infected and affected by Covid-19 registered under Imphal West Area Programme, Loli stated.

The World Vision India, Imphal West area programme and AMHSDA have also donated 10 oxygen concentrators, 10 corrugated beds and 50 PPE Kits to the Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) and five oxygen concentrators, five corrugated beds  and 25 PPE Kits to the Jawaharlal Nehru Institute of Medical Sciences (JNIMS), Loli added.

Loli further stated that a rapid assessment is also underway to identify disabled families and needs of children and families- tested positive for COVID 19, children lost their parents or caregivers to COVID, children who need immediate attention on malnutrition, food security, etc.
