MTDC chairman Ginsuanhau Zou inspects construction site of District Science Centre

Ginsuanhau Zou said that construction of the science centre was started in 2018 but cannot be completed due to non-release of funds and rise in the cost of materials and GST.

The construction site of District Science Centre and Planetarium at Lamjang village under MTDC was inspected by MTDC chairman Ginsuanhau Zou and Churachandpur district BJP president Khaipao Haokip on Thursday.

Ginsuanhau said that construction of the science centre was started in 2018 but cannot be completed due to non-release of funds and rise in the cost of materials and GST. He assured that the pending funds will be delivered soon and the building construction at Siktui farm and resort site, donated by Gouzamang Guite, will be finished by August 31.

After the construction works are over, the science centre will be handed over to the concerned department to make it fully functional, he added.

The team of MTDC chairman also inspected the site of the sub-district hospital at Singhat CHC along with Churachandpur DC and ADCC CEO.

The Singhat PHC was inaugurated on May 26, 2012 by former health minister Phunzathang Tonsing and was later upgraded as CHC by former Health minister, L Jayantakumar on July 16, 2018.

Later, the team visited the eco-tourism park under Singhat assembly constituency, for which the ground levelling works have been finished at N Buangmun village located adjacent to NH-102B.
