Manipur Education Minister S Rajen Singh on Thursday said that everyone should get vaccinated in order to defeat the COVID-19 pandemic.
He was speaking to the media during a visit at Mayanglangjing Taning High School where a mass vaccination campaign is underway. He said that the most challenging deed an individual can do is saving lives.
Telecommunication has developed extensively but, it is frequently noticed that the medium of this communication is misused, he said. Rumours being spread in regard to COVID-19 pandemic are frequently seen in social media, he added.
The minister asserted that the media plays a big role in spreading the awareness on Covid and its appropriate behaviours.
“Immature persons sometimes create panic among the general public by spreading wrong information about the disease and it is very unfortunate. We are preparing to fully vaccinate all those who are eligible to be vaccinated,” he said.
Rajen further urged the public to fully cooperate and come out to be a part of the ongoing mass vaccination.
