Based on specific input from reliable sources, troops of Assam Rifles, Churachandpur Battalion, launched an operation that led to the apprehending of the insurgents. And the apprehended insurgents have been handed over to Churachandpur Police Station for further investigations, IGAR (South) stated in a release.

The release further stated that Chassad Battalion of Assam Rifles in association with district administrative authorities organised a Tree Sapling Plantation drive at villages of Kamjong district.

The drive was organised with the objective of promoting the ‘Go Green Initiative’ and spreading awareness about climate change and global warming amongst the troops and locals.

As a part of the event, the participants planted tree saplings of various types, and they were also educated about the importance of trees in maintaining ecological equilibrium, it added.
