Manipur COVID-19 positive cases tally crosses 1000

The total number of COVID-19 positive cases in Manipur crossed 1,000 on Thursday.

According to a release from COVID-19 Common Control Room, 86 persons were confirmed COVID-19 positive in the last 24 hours taking the total tally of COVID-19 positive cases in the state to 1,056.

Of the 1,056 positive cases, 702 are active cases while 354 have recovered, it said.

The release also stated that 26 patients were discharged on Thursday after they were found COVID-19 free on RT PCR test.

The 86 fresh cases, all returnees from other states, include 55 from Tamenglong, 12 from Ukhrul, two each from Bishnupur, Churachandpur, Kamjong, Senapati, Thoubal; one each from Imphal East and Kangpokpi; three from Imphal West and four from Kakching, stated the release.

The patients are being shifted to the Covid Care facilities and all necessary medical precautionary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place, the health department added.

On Wednesday, the state reported 970 total number of COVID-19 positive cases as 49 more persons were confirmed COVID-19 positive. Of the 970 cases, 642 were active cases while 328 people had recovered. The recovery rate was 33.81 per cent, according to a release by the state health department.
