National Doctor’s Day to be observed online

National Doctor’s Day would be dedicated to all COVID-19 martyrs by paying homage, Indian Medical Association-Manipur State Branch stated.

Indian Medical Association-Manipur State Branch (IMA-MSB) has stated that it will observe National Doctor’s Day on Thursday on an online platform under the theme ‘Save the Saviours’.

Doctor’s Day 2021 is very special as it is being observed at the backdrop of the present pandemic where more than 1,500 doctors in the country, including 12 doctors from the state had laid down their lives in the fight against COVID-19, IMA-MSB stated in a release jointly signed by its president Dr S Jugindra and secretary Dr Ng Arunkumar Singh on Wednesday.

National Doctor’s Day would be dedicated to all COVID-19 martyrs by paying homage to them and the association has also decided to honor all the frontline COVID doctors who have dedicated their lives to the supreme service of humanity, IMA-MSB stated.

Seven senior doctors who have contributed much to the healthcare of the state, including Dr M Angamla, Dr Sanasam Mema Devi, Dr Th Laxmikanta Sharma, Dr N Jitendra Singh, Dr Th Sudhirchandra Singh Dr O Ibomcha Singh and Dr Ak Khamba Singh will also be honoured on the occasion, IMA-MSB stated, adding that the PM of India will also address the Medical Fraternity of the country on National Doctor's Day.
