In order to escalate the rate of COVID-19 vaccination in Sagolband assembly constituency, MLA RK Imo has announced rewards for local clubs or communities in the assembly constituency that can vaccinate maximum people within the month of August.

The announcement was made during his inspection of second phase mass COVID-19 vaccination for Sagolband which was kicked off on Friday at Bijoy Govinda Centre.

Stating about the reward to be given, the MLA said that local clubs or committees that can inoculate the highest number of people with COVID-19 vaccine will be given a cash reward of Rs 50,000, followed by Rs 30,000 and Rs 20,000 for second and third highest respectively.

The most effective means to break the chain of this pandemic is more vaccinations. Apart from opening vaccination centres, mobile vaccination camps will be held in various places of Sagolband which will be launched from today onwards, he added.
He also informed that the vaccination programme will be undertaken for all the people in Sagolband who are above the age of 18 years. Any person can do walk-in registration for the vaccination. The centre has been opened to cater to the services of the people of Sagolband and nearby areas.

“We have been able to vaccinate more than 50 percent of people in the assembly constituency till now, and we will never be safe till all of us are vaccinated. However, there are some localities which have less vaccination ratio and there will be a push to increase vaccination in those areas, thus a double strategy of mobile vaccination and opening of normal vaccination centres is being taken up,” said Imo.

He requested all the members of Sagolband Constituency Progressive Committee and local clubs to help in making the vaccination programme a grand success.
