Manipur on Thursday reported 11 more COVID-19 deaths, taking the death toll to 1,085, while 549 new positive cases pushed the state's COVID-19 confirmed caseload to 66,171, official sources said.
Eight districts in the state reported new fatalities due to COVID-19. They are Imphal West, Imphal East and Kakching two each, Bishnupur, Chandel, Churachandpur, Kangpokpi and Tamenglong one each, according to the latest update by the state health department.
Of the new cases, Imphal West, Imphal East, Bishnupur and Thoubal districts continued to report the highest number of daily new COVID-19 positive cases with 188, 102, 53 and 49 respectively.
Forty-three new positive cases hailed from Kakching, 33 from Churachandpur, 30 from Ukhrul, 17 from Kangpokpi, 14 from Tamenglong, six each from Chandel and Tengnoupal, four from Senapati, two from Noney and one from Pherzawl.
Jiribam and Kamjong districts reported no new COVID-19 positive cases and no new fatalities due to COVID-19.
Meanwhile, 655 more persons recovered from COVID-19 in the state, taking the cumulative number of recoveries to 55,912. The recovery rate stands at 84.49 per cent as on Thursday. Manipur now has 9,174 COVID-19 active cases, a release issued by the COVID-19 Common Control Room stated.
A total of 2,128 D-type oxygen cylinders and 412 B-type oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health facilities of the state in the last 24 hours, the release stated.
As many as 5,10,644 people have been administered COVID-19 vaccine in Manipur, as per the latest updates from the state health department.
