India’s daily COVID-19 positive cases remains below 55,000

The country’s active caseload declined to 6,27,057, while a total of 2,90,63,740 patients across the country have recovered as of Thursday.

India continued to witness fall in daily COVID-19 positive cases with the report of 54,069 new cases, while 68,885 patients recovered in the last 24 hours, as per the latest update by the Union Health and Family Welfare Ministry.

According to the ministry’s update, the country’s active caseload declined to 6,27,057, while a total of 2,90,63,740 patients across the country have recovered as of Thursday.

Daily recoveries continued to outnumber the Daily New Cases for the 42nd consecutive day and the Recovery Rate increased to 96.61 per cent.

Weekly Positivity Rate remained below five per cent, currently at 3.04 per cent, while the daily Positivity Rate fell to 2.91 per cent, less than five per cent for the 17 consecutive days.

The cumulative number of COVID-19 confirmed cases in India rose to 30,082,778, while the death toll rose to 391,981, as the country reported 1,321 more deaths due to COVID-19 in the last 24 hours.

The COVID-19 testing capacity was substantially ramped up and 39.78 crore COVID-19 tests in total have been conducted as of Thursday, the ministry added.

The ministry further informed that 64.89 lakh vaccine doses administered in the last 24 hours pushed the cumulative number of vaccine doses administered across the country under the Nationwide Vaccination Drive to 30.16 crore.
