Manipur COVID-19 positive tally nears 1,000; recovery rate improves to 33.81 per cent

As many as 49 more returnees to the state tested positive for COVID-19.

The total number of COVID-19 positive cases in Manipur surge to 970 by 7 pm Wednesday as 49 more persons were confirmed COVID-19 positive in the last 24 hours.
 
According to a release from COVID-19 Common Control Room, out of 970 cases, 642 are active cases while 328 people have recovered so far.The recovery rate is 33.81 per cent, the release said.
 
The 49 fresh cases include 11 from Churachandpur, three from Imphal West, two each from Imphal East, Kangpokpi and Tamenglong, one each from Jiribam, Noney and Thoubal, five each from Kakching, Kamjong and Senapati, and 11 from Ukhrul. All are returnees from other states and are being shifted to the Covid Care facilities, it said.
 
Meanwhile, 70 persons were discharged on Wednesday after they were found COVID-19 free on RT PCR test.
 
According to data received from IDSP, a total of 43,477 COVID-19 tests results have been received so far.
 
Tamenglong, Ukhrul and Kangpokpi are the districts with the highest number of COVID-19 active cases at 89, 85 and 83 respectively.
