A 100-bedded dedicated COVID-19 hospital is ready to be set up at the premises of Community Health Centre, Kakching.
A team of government officials led by advisor to chief minister (Health) Sapam Ranjan inspected the site of the hospital on Saturday in the presence of Kakching MLA, M Rameshwor and principal secretary (Health), V Vumlunmang.
During the visit, Sapam Ranjan said that to tackle the pandemic, the state government has initiated to set up a 100-bedded dedicated COVID-19 hospital in the state and the hospital will be set up in the premises of CHC Kakching, which will be upgraded as a district hospital soon.
He further said that all necessary steps to convert the CHC as COVID-19 hospital will be taken up at the earliest, followed by upgrading it at the level of district hospital with all the essential requirements including sufficient staff.
Appreciating the state government for taking up the step, Rameshwor said that the dedicated COVID-19 hospital will be much helpful for the people residing in Kakching.
While praising all the frontline workers for playing a key role in combating the ongoing pandemic, he appealed to the people of the state to strictly maintain the COVID-19 SOPs so as to break the chain of the pandemic.
After the inspection of the site, a review meeting was held at the CMO office to discuss the present situation of COVID-19 in the distant areas. It was attended by DC, SP and other concerned officials of the district. The team also inspected the present condition of CHC Kakching.
