Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh on Tuesday said that the Central government's target of providing shelter to all is becoming a reality, as 1.94 crore houses have been sanctioned for the poor under the Prime Minister Awas Yojana (Gramin).
The chief minister, in a series of tweets on Tuesday, highlighted the achievements of the several Central government schemes for empowering the poor.
"A Roof Over Every Head Becoming A Reality. 1.94 crore houses have been sanctioned for the poor under PM Awas Yojana (Gramin) of which 1.31 crore are in the name of women as solo or joint owners," Biren said in a Twitter post.
The chief minister also said that "7.09 lakh beneficiaries across 7,489 villages became legitimate owners of property under SVAMITVA" which entails four aspects:
1. Facilitate monetisation of properties
2. Enable bank loans
3. Reduce property-related disputes
4. Help comprehensive village-level planning
CM Biren also informed that as many as 42 crore people have received assistance worth Rs 68,903 crore as part of PM Garib Kalyan Yojana. Over 14 crore free LPG cylinder refills have been delivered to Ujjwala Yojana beneficiaries, CM Biren added.

1. As part of the PM Garib Kalyan Yojana, 42 crore people received assistance worth Rs 68,903 crore.
2. Over 14 crore free LPG cylinder refills were delivered to Ujjwala Yojana beneficiaries," CM Biren tweeted.
"Financial Inclusion And Financial Independence For The Poor. Over 42 crore Jan Dhan accounts have opened, of which 66% are in rural/semi-urban areas. 29 crore MUDRA loans worth Rs 15 lakh crore given to small entrepreneurs," the chief minister said in another tweet.
