COVID Care Centre inaugurated in Ukhrul

With the increase of COVID-19 positive cases in the district, the district administration and Ukhrul District Hospital Authority has come up with the COVID Care Centre at TK Woodland Resort at Shirui village.

Deputy commissioner of Ukhrul, Joseph Pauline Kamson on Tuesday inaugurated a COVID Care Centre at TK Woodland Resort, Paorei Shirui.

With the increase of COVID-19 positive cases in the district, the district administration and Ukhrul District Hospital Authority has come up with the COVID Care Centre at TK Woodland Resort at Shirui village which is located about 19 km from Ukhrul Headquarters. 

Joseph Pauline Kamsom stated that the centre has the capacity for 100 beds with separate male and female wards and will handle all COVID-19-related cases arising in the district.

Chief medical officer of Ukhrul Dr Kapangring A Shimray stated that this centre has been necessitated in order to make Ukhrul District Hospital available for public use.

At the moment, there are a cumulative number of 89 COVID-19 positive cases from Ukhrul district. With14 recovered, the active case stands at 75.
