Manipur's COVID-19 caseload crosses 58000, death toll reaches 925

In all, 730 more people tested positive for COVID-19, while 10 more died of the disease in Manipur on Thursday.

COVID-19 positive cases continue to climb unabated with 730 new daily cases and 10 more deaths due to the infection in Manipur on Thursday. With it, the state's COVID-19 confirmed caseload rose to 58081, while the death toll touched 925, the state health department stated.

As per the latest update, as many as 9,008 COVID-19 test results were recieved on Thursday. Of it, 225 positive cases were from Imphal West, the highest daily new positive cases among the districts in Manipur.

Imphal East reported 160 new positive cases, Thoubal 101, Churachandpur 87, Kakching 55, Bishnupur, 48, Jiribam 13, Senapati 13, Tamenglong 10, Noney seven, Ukhrul five, Chandel three, Kamjong, Tengnoupal and Pherzawl reported one each. Kangpokpi reported no new COVID-19 case on Thursday, a release from the Common Covid-19 Control Room stated.

Meanwhile of the 10 new COVID-19 deaths, six are from Imphal West, two are from Thoubal, and one each from Churachandpur and Imphal East.

The total number of COVID-19 recoveries reached 47797 as 668 more people recovered from the disease. With it, the total number of COVID-19 active cases reached 9359 and the recovery rate stood at 82.29 per cent.

A total of 4,52,635 people in the state have been administered the Covid Vaccine as of Thursday, while a total of 1345 D-type Oxygen cylinders and 521 B-type Oxygen Cylinders have been made available to various health facilities in the state, the release added.

So far, the state has reported a total of 29,844 patients on home isolation, while the number of active cases on home isolation is 4,019.
