Manipur's COVID-19 tally on Tuesday crossed the 56000-mark as 748 more persons tested positive for the viral infection in a span of 24 hours, official sources said.
The state's COVID-19 caseload reached 56,576, while 12 more fatalities pushed the death toll to 908, a release issued by the COVID-19 Common Control Room stated.
The new COVID-19 positive cases included from 205 from ImphalWest; 162 from Imphal East; 120 from Thoubal; 66 from Churachandpur; 63 from Bishnupur; 52 from Kakching; 17 each from Chandel, Tengnoupal and Jiribam; seven each from Senapati and Tamenglong; six from Kangpokpi; four from Pherzawl; two each from Ukhrul and Kamjong; and one from Noney, as per the release. All necessary medical precautionary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place, the release stated.
As per the release four deaths each were reported from Imphal West and Imphal East, two from Churachandpur and one each from Thoubal and Bishnupur.
Manipur also recorded 579 more recoveries, pushing the cumulative number of recovered cases to 46,527. The Number of COVID-19 active cases is 9,14 1 and the recovery rate is 82.23 per cent, it stated.
Meanwhile, a total of 1,672 D-type oxygen cylinders and549 B-type oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health facilities of the state in the last 24 hours.
The total number of people vaccinated against COVID-19 in Manipur reached 4,35,172, according to the latest update by the state health department. .
