India's daily COVID-19 recoveries surpass new positive cases for 25th consecutive day

A total of 1,00,636 new COVID-19 positive cases were recorded in a span of 24 hours, the lowest in 61 days, the Union Health Ministry stated.

India's single-day recoveries surpassed the number of new COVID-19 cases for the 25th consecutive day, with 1,74,399 people having recovered from the infection, the Union Health Ministry stated on Monday.

With the new recoveries, the cumulative number of COVID-19 recovered cases in the country reached 2,71,59,180, while the India's COVID-19 caseload stands at 2,89,09,975 as of Monday.

A total of 1,00,636 new COVID-19 positive cases were recorded in a span of 24 hours, the lowest in 61 days, the Union Health Ministry stated.

As per the update by the ministry, India's COVID-19 recovery rate has increased to 93.94 per cent, while the weekly and daily positivity rate currently stand at 6.21 per cent and 6.34 per cent respectively.

The ministry added that the number of COVID-19 active cases also decreased by 76,190 in last 24 hours. India now has 14,01,609 COVID-19 active cases.

Meanwhile, the death toll climbed to 3,49,186 with the virus claiming 2,427 lives in 24 hours, Health Ministry added.
