STC BSF plants tree saplings as part of World Environment Day

A total of 2,464 saplings were planted

As part of the observance of World Environment Day, STC BSF Lamka, Churachandpur carried out mass plantation of tree saplings inside their campus at Mualkoi village on Friday.

The sapling plantation programme was conducted, maintaining strict COVID-19 SOPs, in collaboration with the district forest department of Churachandpur and it was inaugurated by IG of STC BSF, Raja Babu Singh in the presence of DFO, Esther Laltankim Serto.

Second-in-command of STC BSF, MKT Simte said that the initiative was taken with the increasing rise in temperature and carbon dioxide load in the environment that led to global warming. A total of 2,464 saplings were planted which included fruit bearing trees.
