Sekmai AC opens its first 60-bedded CHIC at Khurkhul

Sekmai assembly constituency opened its first Community Home Isolation Centre (CHIC) with 60 bedded facilities at Sadar Patel High School, Khurkhul on Friday.

Co-convenor of Joint Committee on COVID-19, Sekmai assembly constituency and local MLA, Heikham Dingo inaugurated the CHIC.

“No lack of CHIC will be faced in the assembly constituency and necessary assistance will be provided as much as possible by monitoring round the clock with the help of local meira paibies, local club and civil voluntary organisations,” said Dingo.

He appreciated the volunteers of CHIC who took the initiatives and other locals for giving moral support while opening the CHIC.

He said that the patients in CHIC will be looked after by the doctors and medical staff of Primary Health Centre of the assembly constituency. The medical staff will be given assistance by the volunteers of Sekmai AC COVID-19 Frontline Warrior Group (SCFWG).

“Any person who is tested COVID-19 positive can be admitted to the CHIC. The locals of Sekmai can approach him for any shortage in the CHIC or if they want to open another CHIC within the constituency,” he added.

The MLA also handed over necessary medical kits including oxygen cylinders, oximeters, PPE kits, face shields, face masks, hand sanitisers and sodium hypochlorite to the CHIC.

He appealed to the people for early vaccination to avoid spread of the virus and to follow the guidelines issued by the government.

Zilla Parisad, Mayang Langjing, K Sohodeba Singh; medical officer in-charge of PHC Sekmai; headmaster of Sadar Patel High School; and members of BJP Sekmai Mandal attended the inaugural function.
