Mobile COVID-19 testing by RAT will be conducted for entire Sekmai AC: H Dingo

The sixth and seventh phases of mobile COVID-19 testing were conducted at Kanglatongbi Hindi Higher Secondary School and Awang Sekmai Nilapadama School on Wednesday.

People should take initiatives for COVID-19 testing as early detection can prevent further infection and spread of the disease, said MLA H Dingo Singh.

The MLA in a press note mentioned that as a part of the initiatives taken to prevent the spread of COVID-19, mobile testing by RAT has been continuing in Sekmai assembly constituency.

The sixth and seventh phases of mobile COVID-19 testing were conducted at Kanglatongbi Hindi Higher Secondary School and Awang Sekmai Nilapadama School on Wednesday. During the drive, a total of 269 persons were tested by RAT and out of the total, 321 persons were tested positive, he added.

He further said the first phase of mobile testing by RAT for the Sekmai assembly constituency was launched on May 14. So far, a total of 1,049 persons have been tested and 194 persons were tested positive. The persons who were tested positive were admitted to the COVID Care Centre located at Lamboikhongnangkhong, Imphal West and some of them are staying at Community Home Isolation Centres (CHICs) opened at Senjam Khunou, Tera Urak, Lamlongei and Phumlou.

For serious COVID-19 positive patients, an ambulance has been kept reserved 24x7 for transportation at CCC, Lamboikhongnangkhong and CCC, National Sports University, he added.

He also said that on June 4, a new CHIC will be opened at Khurkhul Sadar Patel Higher Secondary School for the entire Sekmai assembly constituency.

Dingo further said that to prevent the spread of the disease, mobile COVID-19 testing by RAT will be continuing for the entire population of Sekmai assembly constituency. He appealed to the people to volunteer themselves for COVID-19 test to support the fight in making a COVID-19 free state.

Chief Minister N Biren Singh, in his Facebook post on Tuesday, had updated that “Under our guiding motto ‘Early Detection and Early Treatment’, we have launched the mass testing drive for COVID-19 in Imphal West today. We are all going out to test as many as 3,000-5,000 people in the district itself. I appeal to everyone to come out voluntarily to get yourself tested during this testing drive. Always remember, early detection and early medication can save our precious lives.”
