Ukhrul: 21 new COVID-19 positive cases push number of active cases to 100

In view of the impending threats of the COVID-19 pandemic in the area and to prevent further spread, additional district magistrate Ukhrul David Kashungnao has sealed, barred entry and exit of population from five containment areas.

Ukhrul district has reported 21 new Covid positive cases on Monday while 27 positive patients have been discharged.                                  

In view of the impending threats of the COVID-19 pandemic in the area and to prevent further spread, additional district magistrate Ukhrul David Kashungnao has sealed, barred entry and exit of population from five containment areas and directed to initiate active surveillance of the Covid cases with immediate effect.

Residences of Thotshang Shaiza at Viewland zone II; Bhola Sah at Viewland zone I and Bhola Pan shop, Rudal Chaudary at Viewland zone I and Fish shop Viewland zone I; Shangchuila MH wife of Shangreikhai at New Canaan Village and Thotrei Muivah  son of Lakreiphi New Canaan Village were declared as containment zones.  

Residences of Columbus Raikhan of Maichon village and Litan Forest office Ukhrul, and Chonthing AS Viewland zone-1 were revoked from containment as all the family members were retested and found to be negative.

There are a total of 100 active cases in the district, according to district surveillance officer, Ukhrul.
