He said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi wanted to celebrate the seven years of the NDA government by helping the needy at the time of pandemic instead of celebrating with jubilation.

“COVID-19 second wave is more serious as compared with the first wave. To fight this pandemic, people should take extra precautionary measures. People need not panic with the virus infection as timely testing of COVID-19 and vaccination can beat the virus within 14 days. However, people with chronic diseases or comorbidities need to have regular health check-ups before getting COVID-19 infection and prevent critical conditions of health,” said Leishemba.

He continued that the state government has been taking necessary measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19. The government has been engaging doctors and nurses and providing medicines free of cost for those who are undergoing home isolation. With support from the public towards the initiatives of the government, COVID-19 can be defeated, he added.
