Huyel Langlon Thang-Ta Association to observe Thang-Ta Revival Day

Huyel Langlon Thang-Ta Association, Manipur will be observing the 88th Thang-Ta Revival Day on Sunday at its Thang-Ta Shanglen at Yumnam Huidrom, Imphal West. During the British rule and as a consequence of Anglo-Manipur War, the practice of Thang-Ta was banned in Manipur by the British Empire. However, after a long period of ban, Maharaj Churachand intervened and brought a resolution to re-introduce the practice of the martial arts in open schools on May 30, 1934. Thang-Ta units will also observe the day at their respective places with strict adherence to COVID-19 protocols.
