Meghalaya: 125 NEIGRIHMS employees test positive for COVID-19

NEIGRIHMS PRO Dr Cornerstone Wann stated that the administration has taken adequate steps to deliver appropriate patient care for all Covid positive cases, including other routine or emergency cases admitted at the hospital.

As many as 125 employees of the North Eastern Indira Gandhi Regional Institute of Health and Medical Sciences (NEIGRIHMS) hospital in Shillong are under quarantine due to COVID-19.

In a statement issued on Monday, the hospital’s Public Relations Officer (PRO) Dr Cornerstone Wann stated that there are 125 NEIGRIHMS employees, including doctors, nurses, ward attendants and other hospital staff members, who have either tested positive or are under quarantine due to COVID-19 infection.

However, said that the administration has taken adequate steps to deliver appropriate patient care for all Covid positive cases, including other routine or emergency cases admitted at NEIGRIHMS, Dr Wann stated.

“NEIGRIHMS will continue its patient care and OPD services for the benefit of all North East people during these difficult times,” Dr Wann stated

“Our appeal to the public and especially NEIGRIHMS employees is to follow Covid appropriate behavior in the hospital, public places and at home,” he added.
