Former Manipur health director Dr Thiyam Suresh Singh dies after battling COVID-19

The former health director had on May 20, said that he has tested positive for COVID-19.

Former Manipur health director Dr Thiyam Suresh Singh died on Sunday after battling COVID-19. He was 71.

The former health director had on May 20, said that he has tested positive for COVID-19 and was under treatment at the Babina Sajiwa in Imphal. 

Meanwhile, Manipur on Sunday recorded 767 new COVID-19 positive cases, pushing the state’s tally to 44,089, while the death toll mounted to 688 with 14 more fatalities, according to the latest update by the state Health department.

The state has 6,534 COVID-19 active cases as of Sunday.
