MOMA buys 10,000 lychees, 12,000 kg papayas from farmers for home delivery service

MOMA bought lychees and papayas from farmers of Jiribam and Kangu Chingjin, Imphal East district.

With an initiative to reduce the suffering of farmers in selling their agricultural products, Manipur Organic Mission Agency (MOMA) bought 10,000 numbers of lychees and 12,000 kilograms of papayas from the farmers. MOMA, under the department of Horticulture and Soil Conservation and as instructed by chief minister N Biren, bought the fruits from the farmers and sold to the public through home delivery at affordable rates in some parts of Imphal East and Imphal West districts.

It is said that MOMA bought the lychees and papayas from the farmers of Jiribam and Kangu Chingjin, Imphal East district.

Development officer of Horticulture department, Jiribam, Kh Lakhon took the initiative to buy the fruits from the farmers and transported the same to the office of MOMA. Home delivery service for lychees started from Saturday.

The 12,000 kg of papayas were bought from ‘Liklam’, an integrated farm located at Kangu Chingjin, Imphal East along Tinsid road.
