College teachers under Federation of Government College Teachers’ Associations (FEGOCTA) on Saturday announced that they will donate their one-day salary to the Chief Minister’s Covid-19 Relief Fund.

The decision was taken during an online meeting of FEGOCTA Executive Committee that was held recently and in response to the appeal made by the MP, RK Ranjan who is the convener of the ‘Fund Drive Committee, Chief Minister Minister’s Covid-19 Relief Fund, Manipur’, stated FEGOCTA in a release.

It recalled that the government college teachers under FEGOCTA had also donated their one-day salary to Chief Minister Minister’s Covid-19 Relief Fund in 2020.

Asserting that citizens and government employees should contribute and support in whatever possible ways to the government and stakeholders to save lives and protect the people from the COVID-19 pandemic, it also appealed to the students and general public to take extra care and stay safe by following COVID-19 appropriate behaviour.

The release also drew attention of the chief minister in regards to the suggestions given by FEGOCTA on May 12 as supplement to the ongoing measures taken up by the government in combating the pandemic.

Further appealing to the principals and teachers of all the government colleges to donate their one-day salary, the release also welcomed and appreciated the principals and teachers of the some colleges who had already taken concrete action in this regard.
