As COVID-19 cases surge at an alarming rate in the second wave in the state, children are reported to have become infected and affected by the virus, stated a release signed by MCPCR chairperson Manibabu Phurailatpam. It has been observed that in most cases, the virus gets transmitted from adults to children, it stated.

In such a scenario, it is deemed necessary for all staffs/officials/members/chairpersons of various institutions under Child Protection services (CPS) Scheme, school bus/van drivers, parents/guardians, school authorities and staffs (teaching and non-teaching) and any individuals who are working in close proximity with children to get vaccinated at the earliest, MCPCR stated.
