According to the Mizoram government sources, the lockdown effective from June 23 will have more stringent measures than the present one. Official sources said that such moves have become extremely important given the situation in the state.

The latest order of the State government issued on Sunday said that all international and inter-state borders will continue to remain sealed. However, entry points, including Vairengte and Bairabi on the Mizoram-Assam border and Kanhmun on the State border with Tripura will not be sealed for the transportation of essential commodities.

The order also said that the Lengpui Airport will remain operational. Besides the stranded people of the State, ‘outsiders’ who have permissions from the Home department will be allowed to enter the State.
