Former Manipur MLA of Kshetrigao assembly constituency Vivek Raj Wangkhem died due to COVID-19 in Delhi on Monday.
Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad Sangma took to Twitter to extend his condolence over the demise of the former MLA, who was also the National General Secretary of the National People's Party (NPP).
"Pained by the demise of Sh. Vivek Raj Wangkhem, former Manipur MLA & National General Secretary of NPP who lost the battle to Covid. We have lost a dear friend & a committed party leader. My deepest condolences to his family, friends & admirers. May his soul rest in eternal peace," Sangma tweeted.
Extending its condolence over the death of Wangkhem, NPP Nagaland also tweeted, "The NPP Nagaland State mourns the tragic demise of Shri Vivek Raj Wangkhem, former MLA, Manipur, former 1st NPP Sate In-charge Nagaland and National General Secretary of NPP who lost the battle to COVID, today on the 17th of May’21. May his soul rest in peace."
