Manipur: Drug dealer stabs friend, opens fire at victim’s residence in Thoubal district
The Thoubal police have taken up a case in regard to the issue, and search operations have commenced for accused Md Itomba who is still absconding till the filing of this report.
A drug dealer allegedly stabbed a friend and also fired four-five rounds of bullets at the residence of the victim in an incident that took place on Saturday at Keibung Sanasibi Leirak, Thoubal district.
The accused Md Itomba, 25, son of Md Saukat Ali, allegedly stabbed one Md Samu, 27, son of Abdul Gafar. Both the accused and victim are residents of Keibung Sanasibi Leirak.
The victim Md Samu sustained injuries on his forehead as a result of the stabbing. However, with the injuries being not so serious, he was provided first aid at a nearby chemist shop and is currently recuperating at his home. Although no one was injured in the firing, a bullet hit a vehicle parked at the lawn of Md Samu’s residence.
Meanwhile, the accused Md Itomba has reportedly gone into hiding.
According to sources, the accused Md Itomba is infamous in his locality for dealing in drugs, including heroin and WY tablets among others. A few months ago, he had reportedly hired a truck belonging to Md Samu, and without any knowledge on his part, Md Itomba had allegedly hidden some drugs in the vehicle. Later, after the police found drugs in the vehicle, Md Samu was arrested and put into jail.
After his release from jail, Md Samu had approached Md Itomba asking for compensation following which a heated argument took place. During the ensuing scuffle Md Itomba allegedly stabbed Md Samu and fled from the spot; he returned back after some time with a gun and allegedly fired bullets at Md Samu’s residence.
