Manipur chief secretary Rajesh Kumar recovers from COVID-19, discharged from RIMS

The chief secretary had tested positive for COVID-19 on April 19.

Manipur chief secretary Rajesh Kumar has been discharged from the Regional Institute of medical Sciences (RIMS) in Imphal after recovering from COVID-19.

The chief secretary had tested positive for COVID-19 on April 19.

Rajesh Kumar was admitted to the hospital with COVID-19 pneumonia and was discharged after 24 days of medication, oxygen therapy at tapering flow and physiotherapy. He has been comfortable without oxygen support for the past four days. He is  weak because of the prolonged hospitalisation but quick recovery is expected at home, RIMS media advisor N Philip Singh said in a statement.

Meanwhile, RIMS director professor A Santa Singh thanked the doctors, nurses and other staff who had worked tirelessly to fight against the COVID-19 pandemic and requested the public to follow SOPs and COVID appropriate behaviour strictly.
