Community leaders of Moreh have resolved to ban outsiders and non-residents from entering Moreh from Wednesday onwards.
The resolution was unanimously taken after deliberations on the pertaining COVID-19 related issues during a meeting of civil bodies of Moreh held at the office of Hill Tribal Council (HTC) on Wednesday.
The participants also resolved that people who had to enter Moreh in case of emergencies and unavoidable cases should obtain the latest COVID-19 negative test reports or certificates from the Medical department. Any person whether a resident or non-resident of Moreh not possessing the COVID-19 negative reports will be denied entry.
It further advised the public of Moreh to strictly adhere to the (SOPs) or COVID-19 guidelines laid down by the district administration.
The meeting also resolved to approach ADC MOREH to rectify specific irregularities in regard to ration cards under NFSA.
The irregularities include the allocation of ration cards which were previously allocated under Moreh Block but were currently dispersed at other Blocks under Tengnoupal district and other districts of Manipur. The numbers of beneficiaries in the Ration Cards which were updated and linked with Aadhaar Cards were not as per the updates made.
The statement declaring the resolutions was jointly signed by president MCM, M Thoiba Singh; president HTC, Jangmang Haokip; president Gorkha Samaj Seva Samiti, Moreh, Durga Prasad Acharya; secretary Tamil Sangam, KBS Maniam and vice president MMCM, Addul Hamid.
