Massive landslides triggered by heavy rainfall cut off parts of Imphal-Jiribam road of the National Highway (NH) 37 in Manipur on Sunday.

Heavy downpour lashed Manipur in the past few days. Landslides cut off the national highway between Kotlen and K Sinam village.

All vehicles coming to and fro along the highway have been stranded as at least 50 metre of the highway has been cut off by landslides and incessant rain.

According to the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), the highway is likely to reopen after two days as heavy rains continue to hamper repair works.

Meanwhile, the damaged Irang Bailey bridge at Taubam Village has been repaired and stranded vehicles have been moved from the area.
