Manipur: Churachandpur records one more COVID-19 death
Churachandpur has a total of 271 COVID-19 active cases, out of which 128 are in home isolation.
Churachandpur district recorded one more COVID-19 death in the last 24 hours at the district hospital on Monday. The COVID-19 death toll in the district mounted to 54, while the cumulative number of COVID-19 confirmed cases surged to 2,540 with 34 new positive cases.
According to the district hospital authority, the 42-year-old COVID-19 patient from Chengkonpang died due to acute abdomen hollow virus perforation. He tested positive of COVID-19 on May 7.
It also said that 44 D type oxygen cylinders are available in the isolation ward of the district hospital while 18 D type and seven B type are sent for refilling to the centre medical store. Currently, the district hospital has six cylinders in stock with 20 cylinders in use.
IDPS source said that at present, Churachandpur has a total of 271 COVID-19 active cases, out of which 128 are in home isolation and the remaining patients, who in need of oxygen, are on treatment at the isolation ward of the district hospital and at CCC Lanva TD block.
Meanwhile, many were seen breaking the lockdown rules and guidelines at pharmacies and ATM booths. Churachandpur police apprehended 79 people for violating the SOPs and collected a total fine of Rs 31,600 on Monday.
