Manipur on Monday recorded 424 new COVID-19 positive cases, taking the state's caseload to 35,778, while 13 more fatalities pushed the death toll to 489, according to the latest update from the state health department.
On Sunday, Manipur reported 579 new COVID-19 positive cases and 15 COVID-19 fatalities.
The new positive cases included 414 from the general population and 10 personnel from the Central Armed Police Force (CAPF), while the 13 fatalities included seven from Imphal West, two from Thoubal, and one each from Bishnupur, Chandel, Imphal East and Kakching, as per the release issued by the COVID-19 Common Control Room.
Among the new COVID-19 positive cases from the general population, Imphal West and Imphal East continued to report the highest number of new cases at 175 and 157 respectively. The other new COVID-19 positive cases included 30 from Bishnupur, 18 from Churachandpur, 11 from Jiribam, three each from Kaching, Chandel and Kangpokpi, two from Tamenglong and one each from Ukhrul, Tengnoupal, Senapati and Noney, the release stated.
All necessary medical precautionary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place, it stated.
While the number of COVID-19 active cases mounted to 4,604, the cumulative number of recovered cases stood at 30,685, including 87 recoveries. The state's COVID-19 recovery rate is 85.76 per cent. the release stated.
Meanwhile, a total of 1,020 D type oxygen cylinders and 524 B type oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health institutions and health facilities of the state, the release stated.
District hospitals have 128 D type and 85 B type filled cylinders of which Bishnupur have 13 D type and eight B type, Chandel has 18 D type and six B type, Churachandpur has 24 D type and 10 B type, Senapati has six D type and seven B type, Thoubal has 23 D Type and 11 B type, Ukhrul has nine D type and 16 B type, Tamenglong has 15 D type and 21 B type and Jiribam has 20 D type nad six B type cylinders, it added.
As per the latest updates, the cumulative number of people who have been vaccinated in the state reached 2,66,081.
