On April 7, an agreement was arrived between the state government and the All Tribal Student Union Manipur (ATSUM), that the state government will announce the ADC election on or before May 5 so that the ADC election is completed by June 25, stated additional chief secretary (TA and H) Letkhogin Haokip in a release.

However, due to the surge in COVID-19 across the state and declaration of offices and government establishments as containment zones, the state government has not been able to notify the ADC election as agreed upon, it added.
