To tackle the second wave of COVID-19 pandemic in the Heirok assembly constituency, all measures are being undertaken under the supervision of former education minister Thokchom Radheshyam who is also the MLA of Heirok assembly constituency.

When the second wave hit the state, the ‘Relief Committee against Covid-19 Heirok Kendra’ chaired by MLA Radheshyam was created and had been active in putting efforts to make the assembly constituency Covid free.

Essential food items were provided to households which were put under a containment zone while sanitation works were carried out using Sodium Hypochloride at each locality.

When the first wave hit the state in 2020, two ambulances were bought by the MLA and handed over for public service.

The Covid warrior team of Heirok assembly constituency have been utilising the ambulances and actively working round the clock in transporting the Covid patients to hospitals.

Those who are suspected of contracting the virus and those who are showing symptoms are also being transported for taking Covid tests at the testing centres.

Above all, those who need to be quarantined are being transported at the DIET centre located at Heirok Khangarok.

At all the containment zones in Heirok assembly constituency, essentials are continually being provided by ‘Relief Committee Against Covid-19 Heirok Kendra’.
