One man was caught for stealing and eating a pet dog by a team of Yening Animals Foundation (YAF) at Thoubal district.

Speaking to the media persons, chairperson of YAF, Sapana Laishram said that a complaint of a missing dog was made by the dog’s owner, Sarangthem Surdhani Devi of Salungpham Mayai Leikai, Thoubal district. She also pointed out the suspect who had stolen her pet dog. Soon after, the YAF team led by its executive member, Ksh Johnson searched for the suspect and he was caught.

The person who stole the dog was identified as Simoi Awungshi alias Amo, 70, of Saram Tangkhul village of Thoubal Tehsil, Thoubal district. He admitted that the dog was stolen and eaten by him. He also apologised for the crime he committed and assured that he will not repeat it again, added the YAF chairperson.
