Nagaland reports 309 new COVID-19 positive cases

The number of COVID-19 active cases in Nagaland surged to 2,433 on Friday.

Nagaland on Friday reported 309 new COVID-19 positive cases, taking the state's tally to 15,580, state Health Minister S Pangnyu Phom said.

Of the new COVID-19 positive cases, 200 cases were reported from Dimapur, 63 from Kohima, 32 from Mon, nine from Mokokchung, three from Phek and two from Zunheboto, Phom said in a tweet.

With the new positive cases, the number of COVID-19 active cases in Nagaland surged to 2,433.

The state also recorded 112 new recoveries, pushing the cumulative number of recovered cases to 12,540 while the death toll stood at 112.

"Update! 309 +ve cases of COVID-19 reported today. Dimapur- 200, Kohima- 63, Mon- 32, Mokokchung- 9, Phek- 3, Zunheboto- 2. 112 +ve patients have recovered. Dimapur- 102, Kohima- 9, Peren- 1. Total +ve cases- 15580 Recovered- 12540 Active Cases- 2433 Death- 112," the state health minister tweeted.

On Thursday, Nagaland recorded 267 COVID-19 positive cases and 38 recoveries.
