Strongly condemning Trinamool Congress in connection with the post-poll violence in West Bengal, MLA of Heirok assembly constituency Thokchom Radheshyam on Thursday said that there is no place for violence in democracy.

He was speaking at the protest held against the alleged violence meted out by workers of All India Trinamool Congress against BJP workers in West Bengal after the election result was declared.

He further said, India is the largest democracy in the world and it has been existing as a shining example for its system of non-violence. There is no place for violence in such a country, he said. However, all of this has been turned into a complete farce by workers of Mamata Banerjee led All India Trinamool Congress in West Bengal where more than 20 BJP workers have been killed so far, he said.

“Such forms of violence are highly condemned and they are not at all acceptable at a place where democracy is followed,” he added.

The action of Trinamool congress shows that though they may have won the election in West Bengal, the majority of the people are against them, he said.
