Awareness, poster campaign on COVID-19 launched, essentials distributed in Imphal East

The campaign was organised by ‘COVID 19 Joint Task Force, Pourabi, Imphal East. It was launched by superintendent of police, Imphal East.

An awareness programme on COVID Appropriate Behaviour along with a poster campaign was launched at Pourabi Lainingthou Puthiba Community hall, Imphal East on Sunday.

The campaign was organised by ‘COVID 19 Joint Task Force, Pourabi, Imphal East. It was launched by superintendent of police, Imphal East Jogeshchandra Haobijam and will be covering the area of Lalmai and Khundrakpam assembly constituency.

It is said that with the increasing cases of COVID-19, the campaign was organised to spread more awareness for preventing further infection from the virus.

Chief medical officer, Imphal East district Dr L Indira, president of COVID-19 Joint Task Force, Pourabi, K Kalachand, Pradhan of Waiton gram panchayat, P Surbala and personnel of Lamlai police station attended the launching programme.

Meanwhile, Khundrakpam Kendra Development Committee (KDCC) distributed essential items including rice, dal, edible oil, fermented fish, soap and others to the locals of Khundrakpam Mayai Leikai, Pangei Yangdong and Keibi Heikakmapal Awang Leikai, Imphal East.

Distribution of essential items were organised by KDCC under the supervision of MLA Th Lokeshwar Singh. Local bodies of the area appreciated the initiatives taken by Lokeshwar who is also the local MLA of the assembly constituency.
