A total of 60 areas in Imphal were declared as containment zones in view of the threat posed by the recent surge in COVID-19 positive cases and as a measure to prevent further spread of the disease.
In Imphal West district, the containment zones were declared in certain areas at Chingamakha Maisnam Leikai; Chingamakha Ningthoujam Leikai; Iroishemba-opposite Moirangthong; Keishamthong Longjam Leirak; Khagempali Huidrom Leikai; Khonghampat Awang Leikai; Khoyathong opposite Sani Mandir; Lairenjam Awang Leikai; Lamsang Bazaar; Langol Tarung; Langthabal Kunja Awang Leikai; Malom Mamang Chandam Leikai; Mayang Imphal Chabung Company-Yurembam Leikai; Mongsangei Makha Leikai; Nagamapal Kangjabi; Nambol Khajiri Maning; Patsoi Part-III; Sagolband Kangabam Leikai; Sagolband Sayang Kurao Makhong; Sagolband Tera Sapam Leirak; Sagolband Tera Yengkhom Leirak; Sangaiprou Kabui Khul; Sega Road Khwairakpam Leikai; Sega Road Koireng Hazari Leikai; Singjamei Chongtham Leikai; Singjamei Okram Leikai; Tera Sapam Leirak; Thangal Bazaar; Uripok Achom Leikai; Uripok Bachaspati Leikai; Uripok Gopalji Leirak; Uripok Tourangbam Leikai; Yumnam Leikai Lairembi Maning along with two areas each at Singjamei Thongam Leikai; Malom Tuliyaima Makha Leikai; Takyel Kolom Leikai and Yaiskul Hiruhanba Leikai, as per the orders issued by the deputy commissioner of Imphal West district Naorem Praveen Singh on Tuesday.
In Imphal East district, the containment zones are certain areas at Lairikyengbam Leikai; Kongpal Kongkham Leikai; Mantripukhri Mercy Lane; Luwangsangbam; Kontha Ahallup Leikai; Poumai Colony- Sangakpham; Wangkhei Keithel Ashangbi; Kongpal Chanam Leikai; Kongba Nongthombam Leikai; Khurai Top Khonangkhong; Wangkhei Angom Leikai; Khurai Thangjam Leikai; Khurai; Top Makha Leikai; Khurai Khongnang Makhong; Wangkhei Thangapat Mapal; Yairipok Top Chingtha; Khurai Top Khonangkhong- RK Rice Mill and Khongman Zone-II, as per the orders issued by the deputy commissioner of Imphal East district, Shamim Ahmad Shah on Wednesday.
