As many as 69 migrant labourers facing unavailability of work amid lockdowm left Moreh at the India-Myanmar border for their home state Bihar on Saturday, official sources said.
Moreh hospital doctors conducted medical check up to the 69 migrants in the presence of ADC Moreh, L Manikanta and SDO Moreh, Dinesh Kumar. They were sent home in two buses around 11 50 am.
The workers who returned to their hometowns are both skilled and unskilled labourers and include those engaged as masons.
One of the labourers expressed his gratitude to the state government of Manipur and district administration of Tengnoupal for the measures taken up for their safety and travel. They also said they experienced a safe and happy life in Manipur but as lockdown continues, they have no work and were compelled to go back to their hometown.
It may be noted that 30 migrant workers had earlier left Moreh for their home state on June 5.
