Local clubs carry out poster campaign on prevention of COVID-19 in Imphal East

The clubs included the Youth Development Center Club, Keirao Bitra; Litan Makhong Youth Club; Irilbung Library Union and Keirao Khunou Youth Club of Imphal East district.

Several clubs in Imphal East district launched a poster campaign to spread awareness on prevention of COVID-19 infection on Sunday.

The clubs included the Youth Development Center Club, Keirao Bitra; Litan Makhong Youth Club; Irilbung Library Union and Keirao Khunou Youth Club of Imphal East district.

To prevent the rising case of COVID-19 infection, the members of the local clubs used loudspeakers to spread awareness of the second wave and urged for timely vaccination. It disseminated information on how to maintain health hygiene and appealed to follow the guidelines provided by the government.

Speaking on the occasion, Youth Development Center Club Puthem Ibomcha president said after the first wave of COVID-19 hit Manipur, the state had fought to overcome the situation and was likely to overcome the pandemic. But with the coming of the second wave, the virus has already started giving a huge impact to the people’s lives, he added.

For the people to take up strict precautionary measures, the poster campaign is being organised, he said. The public should follow the guidelines and prevent further spread. They should not wait for the government. They should start taking responsibilities on their own, he added.

As a part of the campaign, posters were distributed to the people of the area and they were put up at the marketplaces of Keirao Bitra Panthoibi bazaar and others.

The poster campaign programme was organised by Youth Development Center Club, Keirao Bitra.
