Imphal West district deputy commissioner Naorem Praveen Singh declared 31 more areas the district as containment zones on Friday while another 10 areas in Imphal East were declared the same by DC Imphal East district, Shamim Ahmad Shah on Saturday.
The containment zones in Imphal West are certain areas at Awang Sekmai Leikai; Keishamthong Leirak Achouba; Kanglatongbi Shantipur; Awang Khunou Maning Leikai; Khonghampat Mantri Leikai; Khuyathong Polem Leikai; Kwakeithel Laishram Leikai; Naoremthong; Sagolband Ingudam Leikai; Paite Veng, Kwakeithel; Sagolband Moirang Leirak- Chabungbam Leikai; Sanakeithel; Singjamei Chingamakha Kshetri Leikai; Singjamei Chongtham Leikai; Takhel Leikai; Taothung Ayungba; Thangal Bazaar; Thangmeiband Lourung Purel Leikai; Thangmeiband Polem Leikai; Thangmeiband Yumnam Leikai; Uripok Bachaspati Leikai; Uripok Haobam Dewan Leikai and Uripok Sinam Leikai along with two areas each at Sagolband Meino Leirak; Sagolband Tera Lukram Leirak; Sangaiprou Mamang Leikai and Uripok Gopalji Leirak, stated the orders by the deputy commissioner, Imphal West.
The containment zones Imphal East district are certain areas at Wangkhei; Lairikyengbam Leikai; Yairipok Top Chingtha; Yairipok Poirou Khongjin Awang Leikai; Lairikyengbam Mayai Leikai; Laipham Khunou Mayai Leikai-Maibam Leirak; Soibam Leikai; Chingmeirong Leikai; Wangkhei Thangjam Leikai and Sambei as per the orders by the deputy commissioner, Imphal East.
