Nestle India says sorry for blunder on Keibul Lamjao National Park

The location of Keibul Lamjao National Park was wrongly mentioned as Meghalaya on the cover pack of Kitkat, a chocolate-covered wafer bar confection.


Nestle India on Friday apologised for the wrong information on Keibul Lamjao National Park location displayed on the cover of a KitKat chocolate pack 

The huge public outcry over the blunder committed by Nestle prompted the food and beverage company to issue a statement of apology.

The spokesperson of Nestle India stated that the company got it wrong with the location on the KitKat pack and "sincerely apologised for the unintentional error".

The KitKat travel break packs were aimed at bringing a smile in this tough times by celebrating beautiful locations, and the product featuring Keibul Lamjao National Park was one of the two celebrating wildlife, it stated.

The statement also mentioned that the company will be launching two new packs celebrating Keibul Lamjao National Park, Manipur and Balpakram National Park, Meghalaya with the aim to highlight the beauty of these destinations.

Condemning Nestle Company for the blunder, People For Animals (PFA) - Manipur had issued a warning that it will boycott all Nestle products if the misinformation is not rectified at the earliest.

Principal chief conservator of Forests (Wildlife) and chief wildlife warden, government of Manipur Ak Joshi had also sent a letter of complaint to Nestle India in regard to the issue. He had stated that such error is unacceptable under any circumstances and urged for a rectification at the earliest.
