Mizoram's COVID-19 active caseload crosses 600-mark

Sixty-two new COVID-19 positive cases were reported in Mizoram on Thursday.

The cumulative number of COVID-19 confirmed cases in Mizoram surged to 5,220 as the state recorded 62 new positive cases on Thursday, the state Department of Information and Public Relations (DIPR) said.

With the new positive case, the number of active cases in the state also mounted to 608, the DIPR said.

Among the active cases, Aizawl has the maximum cases with 457, followed by Lawngtlai with 60 and Lunglei with 33. The remaining active cases included 26 in Kolasib, 18 in Serchhip, six in Champhai, four in Mamit, two each in Siaha and Saitual.

No new COVID-19 case was reported from Khawzawl and Hnahthial districts after the recovery of the active cases, the DIPR added.

Of the total confirmed cases in Mizoram, 4,600 patients have recovered while 12 persons have succumbed to the disease.
