To save the historic place of Mt Koubru, a certain community needs to take initiative to construct a temple on the peak of Mt Koubru and it is the duty for the community to safeguard the historic and sacred place of Mt Koubru, said MLA Kh Joykisan on Thursday.

He was speaking to the media during a press conference held at his residence located at Thangmeiband, Imphal.

Joykisan said to safeguard and promote Hinduism, the present central government leaders including Union Home Minister Amit Shah took the initiatives by constructing Ram Mandir at Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh. Similarly, a temple should be constructed at the Mt Koubru peak, he added.

“I will support any sort of works on the construction of a temple at Mt Koubru. I will donate a sum of Rs 1 lakh to any organisation that announces to construct the said temple,” Joykisan said.

The state governments in the past had failed to take the initiatives but the present government can take the opportunity to construct the temple at the peak of Mt Koubru, he added.

He further added that the present government could solve the issue concerning MGNREGS funds. Failing to issue the wages is a violation of labourers' rights, he added.
